Junior League of Amarillo: Making an Impact Beyond Borders

JLA’s Mo Hudson speaks with KAMR at Find the Good Day 2023

On September 14th and 15th, the Junior League of Amarillo embarked on a mission to “Find the Good” at Kendra Scott, nestled within the bustling halls of Westgate Mall. The purpose? To offer the community a unique opportunity to shop with a purpose while simultaneously giving back to their beloved community.

During this two-day extravaganza, Kendra Scott pledged to donate a generous 20% of all public sales to the Junior League of Amarillo, reinforcing the significance of community-driven initiatives. Every purchase became a tiny contribution to a larger, more meaningful cause.

However, the League didn’t stop at simply encouraging shopping; they extended their compassionate hands to those in need. Alongside their shopping bags, patrons were invited to bring feminine hygiene products, a small but vital contribution to the Period Project. This incredible endeavor aims to provide essential feminine hygiene products to individuals in our community who may otherwise lack access to them.

Mo Hudson, a passionate member of the Junior League, articulated the profound importance of the Period Project. “It’s a powerful testament to the League’s diverse membership, united behind a common cause that transcends boundaries and backgrounds. The initiative underscores the League’s dedication to improving the very fabric of our community, one act of kindness at a time.”

The Junior League of Amarillo continues to demonstrate that together, we can achieve incredible things and make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most.
