Community Projects
The Junior League will give approximately $25,000 and more than 5,000
volunteer hours to the following community projects during 2012-2013:
Amarillo Zoo
JLA provides volunteers and funding in support of a handson learning experience
about animals, their environments and conservation.
Teen Court
JLA provides volunteers and funds to support this program which assists teenage
offenders in assuming responsibility for theirbehavior through involvement in the
judicial process and in the community.
Camp Alphie
JLA provides funds and volunteers at summer camp to help
enrich children's lives that are affected by cancer.
Hope and Healing Place
JLA provides funding and volunteers to help facilitate grief support groups for
children and families that have experienced the death of a family member.
Snack Pak 4 Kids
JLA provides funding and volunteers to fill bags full
of shelf-stable snack food and deliver them to schools to be taken home on
Fridays in the backpacks of hungry children.
Presbyterian Home for Children
JLA provides volunteers and funds in a mentoring program to help tutor children
living at the Children's Home.
