2009-2010

COMMUNITY PROJECTS

The Junior League will give $43.240 and 36,000 volunteer hours to the following community projects this year:

  • Amarillo Museum of Art
  • Hope and Healing Place
  • Rainbow Connection at Child Protective Services
  • Teen Court
  • Northwest Texas Hospital Child Life Program
  • Camp Alphie
  • Kids Cafe / High Plains Food Bank

COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE FUNDS

The Junior League will grant a total of $15,000 to area agencies. 


ACE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The Junior League of Amarillo gave $50,000 to the initial ACE scholarship fund for Palo Duro HIgh School.  Recently, the League completed an additional $50,000 grant to the initial ACE scholarship fund at Caprock High School. 

The Junior League currently has three ACE Housing and DIning Scholarship students.  Each young lady receives $5,000 per year towards their housing and ining expenses at West Texas A&M University. 

MEDICAL CENTER LEAGUE HOUSE

The Junior League is developing plans to build the Medical Center League House. This facility will be a home away from home for families with loved ones in the hospital as well as patients receiving out-patient care. The Junior League has committed $200,000 and countless volunteer hours to this project.  Click here to read more about the Medical Center League House project.
